Lord Diablo. He won my hand in marriage over my drunken father's loss in a card game.
Refusing his carriage after the ceremony, I rode my horse in a torrential downpour to his menacing ancestral castle that sat high up on a mountain top.
I made one stop along the way. An apothecary named Glass Cauldron. I left with some herbs, some tinctures and the most purest elixirs for my skin with a scent called The Porcelain Veil.
For I have plans ... and I procured my own wedding gifts.
Lightening lit up the inky midnight sky, thunder bellowed, and rain lashed against the windowpanes as I bathed in a copper tub by candlelight.
I hummed as I cleansed my skin with Bubble Fluff; softly kissed with the sweet notes of The Porcelain Veil.
Ohhh, I should be frightened. I am not.
I slipped into a long white gossamer gown. It fluttered over my lightly perfumed skin; glistening with the silky Velvet Glaze body oil. I added several spritzes of the extrait de parfum. Here and there. And there.
I cracked a impish smile and mused how I smelled like the most delicious treat. How I emote calmness; radiated a cocoon of sugary comfort.
The scent of The Porcelain Veil filled my bedchamber.
I inhaled the notes of Yeast, Cane Sugar, Brown Sugar, Caramel, and Tahitian Vanilla.
As well as Tonka Bean, White Woods and Warm Musks.
I closed my eyes and sighed with pleasure.
I left a trail of this beautiful elixir as I made my way down the dark hallway with my candle as my guide, my bare feet padding quietly and my gown fluttering behind.
I paused before opening his door.
I am to sleep with my new monster of a husband. The Devil, they call him.
But wait ...
He has no idea who I am.
He just thinks I am pretty and smell delicious.
